Sound
This pickup set is perfect for those looking for the most traditional Tele twang out of their Telecaster. Vintage Hot Tele Pickups excel at cleaner styles of music. Expect a robust and open midrange, clear bass strings, and bright and sharp-sounding plain strings. The break-up is smooth and late, ideal for cleaner players or a softer playing style.
Vintage Hot Tele Pickups are for those who need the most traditional Vintage Telecaster tone. If you’re playing style involves more distortion, or, if you prefer smoother, darker-sounding pickups, you might like our Blues Specials a bit more. However, If your current pickups are too dark, or if you’re looking for some added definition and clarity, you will love these. You’ll wonder why you didn’t make the switch earlier.
Are you looking for a Hum Cancelling Tele pickup that actually sounds like a Tele? Check out the Vintage Output of our Split Blade Tele Pickups
Our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control. These Telecaster pickups consist of local fiberboard and USA-Made Alnico 5 Magnets. We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time. Each pickup is wound using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique. This gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to preserve the pickup and prevent microphonics. Rest assured: when you receive this pickup, you’ll know it’s painstakingly made with love.

I just installed a set of Stock Tele pickups in my Telecaster and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement. I’ve tried so many pickups that I’ve practically become a pickup collector, but I’m pretty sure I’m done now. The twang, richness, complexity, airy harmonics and remarkable balance between the front and rear pickups were exactly what I’ve been looking for.
-
Love the pickups – the suport team when I needed to slightly alter my order was great as well. Would recommend again!
-
Hi Lindy, I finally got a chance to install your vintage hot pickups in my1960 Telecaster ordered in early March. This is a considerable improvement over the original pickups. Thank you for your attention to detail and for offering an outstanding product. Best regards, John Carr

I upgraded a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster with set of Vintage Hot pups, stock neck and 2% overwound bridge. Also installed the Fralin pre-wired control plate. I also changed the bridge and saddles (brass, but aluminum E-A saddle) with ones made by a chap in Germany brand name T-Tune. The installation went well and it was the first time I’d ever done a setup on any guitar. I could not be more pleased with the result. To my ears, the guitar now sounds like an early 50s Telecaster. I rate these Fralin pups at 5 stars +.

Okay, I just have to tell you that I am over the moon with these pick-ups on my Telecaster. I’m 68 and I’ve wanted this sound all my life and have never been able to find it. Fantastic! And thank you so much for these awesome pickups.
-
I had a Fender twisted tele neck that I damaged so I bought a fender nocaster neck pickup to replace it. It’s a fine pickup but not at all like the twisted tele. I eventually replaced it with the Fralin tele neck pickup. It lives somewhere between those two previous pickups as it is punchy and bright enough for funk but has some warmth too. I like it.
-
I replaced my neck pickup with a Vintage Hot. I can’t believe the sound that it produces. It is 100% Tele! Super clean and loud.
-
These pickups are incredible! I pulled the trigger on these when my neck pup died on my baja tele and what an improvement. They’re clear and articulate and very touch responsive. I immediately noticed that harmonics jump out of the guitar now when tapped. I’d recommend these to anyone and am looking forward to trying more of their pups in the future!
-
I replaced the noiseless pickups in my brand new Fender Ultra Luxe Tele. Now I have noise and glorious tone! It sounds like a real telecaster now.
-
All the Tele sound I was hoping for on my telerat build with a mahogany body and maple drop top and hand carved maple neck with ziricote fretboard. Very loud and proud yet very subtle. Absolutely love them. Would recommend and buy again
-
I have a beautiful mid 60s tele which I love dearly and it sounds perfect. The only reason I bought these pickups is because the original pole piece offsets create a volume imbalance leaving the two high strings a bit weaker than I wish they were regardless of how I adjust the pickups. This problem is exacerbated by my use of 009 – 042 strings. I’m not going to say that the Fralins sound exactly the same, but they are supremely satisfying and I don’t ever think about the old pickups when I’m playing, I just love the sound and keep going. An unexpected treat is that the neck pickup actually sounds better than the original. I had become accustomed to mostly avoiding it but now I’m using it all the time. So there is is, my unscientific review. I’m very happy. When I die, hopefully my kids will find the original pickups so they can get big bucks for dad’s old geetar…
-
Absolutely terrific pickups. I installed them in a Fender American Originals 60s series Telecaster. I already liked the guitar but this was a big upgrade. Highly recommended.
-
I decided on a set of Lindy Fralin (LF) Vintage Hot for my MIM Tele which has always played brilliantly but lacked the tone I was after. I also replaced the 3-way with a 4-way switch.
Wow what a difference. The tone, pickup responsiveness and overall sound blew me away.
The 4-way has also added an extra dimension and additional tone options on top of the much improved sound.
The LF website, order/delivery process and overall provision of information including my email responses were excellent and professionally presented.
I would and will recommend Lindy Fralin pickups to anyone wanting the best. -
Bought a set of over wounded (+2%, +5%) pickups for my first Partcaster. The guitar is built with 50’ specs and I was looking for the original sound.
Well these pickups are a time-machine. Plug your amp, play any note and you’re back in the 50’ in a heartbeat.
I recommend them to anyone looking for the original sound and the signature twang of the Tele. Well done! -
Ordered the stock tele for the bridge first, liked it so much I ordered a p90 for the neck position 2 weeks later. I also thought it was great that Lindy took the time to call me to ask more about the guitar the pick ups we’re going into.
-
I am building my new partscaster. I got my Fralin pickups but my newly ordered neck doesn’t arrive yet.
Anyway, looks so good. fits perfect to vintage telecaster saddle.
-
Just amazing pickups! I use Fralin’s in all of my guitars except my G&L Broadcaster. I like clarity and Lindy’s pickups always deliver the goods. Never harsh and always makes any build I do or stock guitar sound the way I expect. These pickups nail vintage Tele tones. I’m not a hi gain guy so my ears are dialed into clean tweedy tones. I wouldn’t use anything else!
-
After numerous e-mail exchanges I decided on the stock Tele pickups with two percent over wind. The pickups sound amazing. My Tele is one of the first made in Japan and is a paisley reissue. The original owner had put EMGs in it. Now with the Fralins it sounds like a 60’s Tele with a little punch. The pickups were well worth the money and really complete the guitar which is now one of the best sounding Teles I have ever heard or played.
-
Put in a set of Stock Teles. They sound great!
-
I wanted to make sure my backup Tele got as close to the sound of my old favorite as possible. Had a brief chat with Lindy which is alway a pleasure and they nailed it.
Waiting on a vintage wind set for my hardtail Strat and I know the result will be the same.
Highly recommended!
