Sound
There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.

Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

Here's how we wind and magnetize our pickups:
If you're buying a set from us, all pickups will work together seamlessly. If you're buying a single pickup, all you need to worry about is Coil Direction.
To ensure your pickup will work, make sure you select multiple leads (2-Conductor, 3-Conductor, or 4-Conductor if available), or the 3-Wire modification so you can reverse the coil direction, if need be.

Calculate what shims you need!
- Select your cover height. Most cover heights are either 1/4" (Short Dogear) or 7/16" (Standard Dogear).
- Depress the Low E string at the highest fret
- With the Low E depressed, measure from the bottom of your pickup to the bottom of the string
- Input that measurement into the "String Height" box, and calculate!
Note: Shims are stackable and sandable. It's good practice to get more shim than you need, then sand it down to meet your measurement.

Zero hum, and I meant ZERO. These pickups are playing well with my Vox ac15, Analog Outfitters Sarge, Vintage BF; Vibro Champ, Delux Reverb, Princeton, and Bassman, as well as a custom made Harvard Tweed reproduction. Some guitar, pickup, amp combinations work better than others. My Les Paul with Fralin hum canceling P90’s sound great into any amp. And no more twisting, and turning around to minimize noise.

Wow! Gorgeous. Like listening to liquid butter. Just had these put in my Gibson ES-390. Unreal. The Gibson had the MHS P 90’s. Nice but really annoying hum. Tyler was extremely helpful and Lindy, too. I know where I’ll be getting any future PUP’s. These are fantastic and the people are too.

The solution to my P90 dilemma!
I’ve used most of the P90’s out there but could never play them live due to the hum. These are the perfect solution. The tone is there and unmistakable P90 tone, bite and growl…minus the hum! -

The P90 humcancelling pickups I recently installed for a customer are the best P90s I’ve heard. Now I have to get a set for a few of my guitars! -
Wow – totally blown away with your Hum Cancelling P90’s w/Alnico non adjustable poles. I put a pair into a 2004 Les Paul GOTM along with new pots, volume kits and your “special” caps now the sound is even more articulate, full and singing than I could have remotely anticipated.
I am playing through a Mesa Boogie LoneStar Special, which I consider a dark toned amp, and these PU’s really brighten things up and are able to create classic Chicago blues break-up to heavy rock P90 grind overdrive AND still clean-up when turned down. Getting down to the non-distorted clean range things are just chimey full bodied. The pots and caps allow things to clean up at any volume and the tone controls now really work without any tone suck. You have a customer for life!! I have finally found the versatility I have been looking for……. -
I replaced the stock P90 in my ‘98 Epiphone LP Jr. with Lindy’s hum free model. I could not have been happier with the results. My satisfaction was magnified when I received a call at home from the man himself, asking me for clarification on details of my order to ensure complete satisfaction. Amazing customer service! (I actually thought it was one of my bandmates punking me on the phone! Fortunately I didn’t embarrass myself!) As for the product, the hum-free is indeed dead quiet, but overwhelmingly retains the sonic and tonal character of the original – very responsive and touch sensitive! My first Fralin purchase but certainly will not be my last!

Have Lindy’s noiseless P90s on my red ’93 Les Paul Special they brought this guitar back alive from the stock gibson p100s.. They are beautiful pickups & span every style I play from hard rock to country music. And very pedal friendly with no squeal. You can drive them hard. Yes, i know the hum in p90s is part of the deal. Just installed these pickups and I can finally enjoy p90s – without the hum, that is. The description is spot on. A little darker and thicker sounding, but all p90 tone. Of course I had to adjust from a true p90 to these babies, but I adjusted really quick. Best pickups I ever bought! Thanks Lindy!

I purchased a set of hum cancelling P90’s to install in my new Epiphone 339. The original pickups were not too bad, but I hate hum. After seeing a you tube video I pulled the trigger (bought them through Amazon), and man I am glad I did. They sound just like great single coil P90’s, but zero hum. I have bought many sets of pickups over the years and these have impressed as much or more than any pickup I have ever tried. I give them 10 stars!

I have a Dean Palomino whose pups went microphonic. I bought the P90 noise cancelling pups and they are awesome. I’ve been playing in bands for 37 years off and on. I have a bunch of guitars with great pups. This guitar, as an arch top jazz body with 3 pups and a Bigsby sounds fantastic. I actually play STP Plush with no squeal on top of Stray Cats, Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, etc. Money well spent!

I adore the sound I get out of these pickups. I have a redwood and walnut arch top guitar that my father built that needed to be amplified, not just for jazz, but for indie rock, blues, and a little country. I recently bought a bridge no hum p90, and had wonderful very accommodating customer service. Can’t say enough.

Only P90ish pickup I’ll use. I love gain and hate hum so I tried a set of HC soapbars (thanks CME) in my Fender JA-90 Tele. I now play it more than my CS ’58 Les Paul! Today I replaced a stock P90 with a HC dogear on a LP Jr replica and I can do anything from country to metal. I won’t go back. Forward with Fralin!

I replaced the p-90 in a PRS SE one. The noise of this pick-up is way quieter but retains the awesome P-90 tone. There is still a little noisy and less gain. But the tone is there!

Lindy provides the best customer service I have ever encountered! I had an unique need for my guitar and Lindy worked with me directly to get the sound I wanted. I have no bridge pick up, only a neck and middle position. I was looking for a brighter middle position pickup so it would sound more like a bridge position pickup. The first P90 he sent was not as bright as i needed for this application so he made me a custom pick up specifically to meet my needs. I ended up with a Neck P90 under wound 5% with alnico rods and this pick up has exactly the sound I needed. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

I got this as a replacement to upgrade my Hamer Special double cut a few months ago. The tone, balance, and sensitivity is great! It took just the slightest tweak of the pole heights to make it sound to my taste. I get that “whistling scream” from my high strings on solos to the barely audible notes making the best dynamic range ever. Thanks Lindy!
