Whether playing clean or dirty, we guarantee the “3-dimensional depth” that the Fralin P90 provides will inspire you for years to come. Single notes are punchy and clear without sounding tinny, and chords break up with a tight compression that’s guaranteed to push your amp.

It all starts here: our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control. Lindy Fralin’s P90 in a Humbucker Cover consists of a precision injection mold and USA-Made Steel Screws. We use USA-Made Alnico 4 magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique. This winding technique gives our pickups a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to and prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

I played this pickup for a month before leaving this review. I like it more every time I play it. It’s everything Lindy describes it to be. I’ve tried a few of the other P90 humbuckers out there, and I must say this is the best one I’ve tried, by far. I got the 5% under-wound and put it in the neck of my Tele. Very clear and articulate, with plenty of P90 personality, but always very clean and clear. Chords sound fantastic with this pickup. Not sure how Lindy does it, but this does indeed sound like a top quality P90. Exactly the sound I was wanting for this guitar.
-
I was shocked at how good this pickup turned out. Easy to install, sounds great, highly recommended to anyone looking for something outside of your usual humbucker or single coil guitar. Will happily get another when the time comes. Thanks!
-
I popped these babies into my SG and man! Glad I did. The sound is fantastic out of the box and when I fine tuned the screw heights to the strings, the levels are perfect. Theyvare soooo expressive. Now, I am admittedly more of a single coil guy over a burst bucket, but even so, I’m considering swapping the humbuckers out of my Tele deluxe with some more of these. Lindy Fralin has turned all of my favorite guitars to play into my favorites, and these are no exception.
-
These pickups are astounding. Far superior to GFS and Seymour Duncan. I believe the perfect description for other humbucker size p90s is ” pinched sounding “. These pickups are open, warm, and glassy. They really brought my PRS hollow body II to life.
-
1st off, order was fulfilled quickly, packaging was nice, installation support was good.
2nd, the pickup is nice, solid construction, good shielded cable and chrome pickup cover.
3rd, it sounds frikkin good. I never liked the 498T that came in my LP, the Lindy P90 feels so much better, also works great in the center position out of phase with the bridge 490T for that hollow blues tone.
I actually use the bridge pickup now, great for chickin-pickin or with a fuzz for lead tone.
While some may like the 498T, I consider the Lindy P90 a major upgrade, much more responsive and open. -
The P-90-Humbucker pick up that I purchased for my parts built Esquire is one great pick up. The tonal range is quite astonishing and it’s got more power than I’ll need. Thanks for a great product, 5 stars.
-
These pickups are outstanding. They are my first venture into P-90 world, so I put them in a kit guitar that I destroyed and rebuilt, and wonder why I waited so long to try them. I get comments about how good they sound. I will be buying more for future builds. The midrange is fat and musical, and it cleans up nicely when the volume is rolled back.
Highly recommended. -
Wow, just WOW! I put a set of these (standard wind) in a 61 SG reissue and got exactly what I wanted…Pete, Live At Leeds, Pete!
-
P-90 set, Stock windings, snazzy black covers in a PRS Custom 24.
To my ears these are the most musical of pickups! Read all the info above that the Fralin folks provided and ALL the adjectives and superlatives you’ll see, are right here in this set they wound for me and I am sure your set will be that as well. These pickups (to me) are like getting the best parts of single coil high and low end, with extra sizzle on the highs when you crank up the guitar volume knob….all the middle frequencies from a great humbucker….and (the best part) attitude for days when you open them up and wonderful cleans when you back them down. Since I know you’re reading the reviews…just buy these, you won’t be disappointed. -
Out of this world customer service. Very efficient shipping. Most importantly, an incredible product. I’ve been a PAF lover my entire 30yrs of guitar playing. I enjoy a single coil from time to time. This is the worlds best pickup. A perfect blend of snarl but a bit of quack. I think I actually prefer this over a PAF. Incredible build quality. This was my first Fralin purchase. I will be back for sure. Epic.

This is my second pair of Fralin pickups. I put a set of stock P90s in my old Yamaha SBG-200 and they’ve really breathed new life into that guitar. I’d been really falling in love with the sound of P90s for a while but didn’t have any guitar equipped with them, so these humbucker-sized pickups made for a very easy drop in replacement. They are so sweet sounding and very versatile, capable of covering tones for jazz, blues, rock, and I’m sure so much more. I am very happy with my purchase and I play this guitar much more now!

Great Pickup Great Service
Beautiful P-90 single coil sound and classy looks. I like that they drop right in to the humbucker routes on my ES335 Dot without any modifications to the body or having to buy additional hardware. The neck pickup had a phase issue when I received it but Lindy paid for shipping and fixed it and gave me a complimentary t-shirt and a pre-wired push-pull volume pot to switch to out of phase if I desire. Class A company and Class A pickups.

Would like to buy HB p90 for single pickup Eastman AR371 (ES-175 copy). I play swing and early 50’s style jazz (like early Herb Ellis tone) so relatively bright as far as jazz tones go, but still fat sounding. Two questions please… 1] I’m considering an under-wound but thought I’d check and see if that’s what you recommend and if 2% or 5%. I’m using Thomastik flatwound .12s and acoustically the guitar has jangly clear highs that are somewhat more pronounced than the mids/low mids, while the bass is well balanced. I’d like to have some room to move on the tone control, making the tone darker and fatter but without losing too much clarity. 2] Second, is the “matte black” cover plastic? And will that have any noticeable effect on the tone compared to nickel? Thanks for your help
-
Hey William, as a jazz player myself, I’d recommend going with the Stock output, especially if your guitar is bright acoustically. They are modeled after the early ’50s P90s. They are still plenty clean and bright without being too thick and dark. The Matte Black Cover is Nickel Silver – not plastic.

Mind Blown – Again
This is my fourth set / pickup from Lindy and again a mind-blowing experience. I paired it with a CS Nocaster Bridge pickup in an Ash Thinline Tele. With the help from Jon, I went for the 5% underwound option. Despite that this is my first P-90, it’s beyond words how great it sounds. It sings in a very rich and full voice. Not fat, but very warm and resonant.

p90 humbucker
First off dealing with Fralin is a pleasure, called to get some information on which pickups would suit my guitar and the staff was very helpful. Then they suggested I speak with Lindy himself and to leave my number and he would call me back which he did a couple of hours later and we had a nice discussion on which ones would suit my needs and he was right on the money. the p90 humbuckers fit in perfectly and sound great I am completely satisfied with my purchase and would make the Fralin pickups my go-to resource. Thank You Lindy and staff for your help and Quality products, 2020 Epiphone standard 50s goldtop

I have two Ibanez guitars that are on the cheaper end (AF55 and AF75), but they play fantastic and I wanted a better tone. I tried some Phat Cat 90s and while it was ok, they were just to sterile and thin sounding.
I decided to take a chance on these Fralin P90s and wow, they really make my guitars’ sound exactly as I hoped. These picks are full sounding and sound warmer, not sterile, with lots of definition.
These will be staying in my guitar. -
