Sound
There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.
Our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control.
Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

Here's how we wind and magnetize our pickups:
If you're buying a set from us, all pickups will work together seamlessly. If you're buying a single pickup, all you need to worry about is Coil Direction.
To ensure your pickup will work, make sure you select multiple leads (2-Conductor, 3-Conductor, or 4-Conductor if available), or the 3-Wire modification so you can reverse the coil direction, if need be.

Poor Man’s 1968 Goldtop Build
My first Gibson was a ’68 Goldtop, and after deciding to reacquire one without dropping $5k on a reissue, I built one that solved it’s two main issues, weight and hum. The body is a 2013 Standard Goldtop, and after researching pickups for quite some time (mostly with YouTube comparisons) I selected a set of standard Fralin Hum Canceling P90’s. Couldn’t be happier! To me it sounded more authentic than the Kinmans, and in person it’s just beautiful. There is the crispness and clarity that is associated with single coils without the hum. The tone is absolutely authentic, with a minor caveat that ‘real’ P90’s can be a little muddy on the low end, and these are not. But that may have more to do with the limited pickup height adjustability. I can’t say this guitar sounds *exactly* like my old ’68, which was traded away 30 years ago, but it’s a joy to play and has become my #1. Highly recommended! -
I put one of these in the neck position of my strat and am blown away by the rich tone and volume. Awesome. I still have split blade vintage in the middle and split blade SHO at the bridge. The middle is on the same 500K ohm vol pot but has a 470K ohm resistor to ground. Bridge is same tie in as middle and has tons of quack which I seldom use. I see a future bridge change out soon. 5 way selector pos 2 is really dark. I’ll adjust that a bit also but it is usable as is. P90 on neck is a massive keeper!

Hum-Cancelling P-90s are Magical
I replaced my pickups in my Les Paul Standard with the Fralin Hum-Cancelling sized p-90s and they sound amazing!!! -
Nice Pickup!
I ordered a single P-90 Hum-cancelling Pickup for my Gibson ES-175 in the neck position. It sounds about 98% accurate BUT NO HUM! I worked with Tyler who was excellent on the recommendation and very knowledgeable. I think Fralin should etch the back of the pickup for authenticity. Shipping and handling could be less expensive as well. Great product and Great service overall. -
This hum-cancelling P-90 is truly extraordinary. I couldn’t be any happier with the tone from it. Just as Luke told me when we spoke on the phone, it is a bit warmer than a regular P-90, but it retains that beautiful articulation I was looking for. I got it for the neck position on my Epiphone Dot, and it’s a match made in Heaven paired with a Fralin Pure PAF in the bridge. Many thanks to all the good folks at Fralin for a job well done. Absolutely fantastic pickups! And absolutely fantastic customer service, from start to finish!

Amazing sound! I love these pickups!!! I have put them in my Les Paul and a Guitar that I built and can not get enough them.
-
Amazing pickup and the best customer service. I ordered a p90 as a replacement for a humbucker in the neck position of a 70s SG. It is the most dynamic pickup I’ve ever played, and is extremely versatile. I play everything from straight ahead jazz to fuzzed out psychedelic and it never missed a beat. It is a great pedal platform but sound excellent clean as well. If you’re looking for the clarity and shimmer of single-coils with the stature and fullness of a PAF, this is the ideal pickup.
Tyler, who makes all the noiseless p90s, gave me a call to check if the pedal had gotten to me and how I was liking it. I have nothing but love for this company and have been recommending this product to anyone who will listen.
Do yourself a favour and go Fralin.

I just installed these in a Gibson Les Paul Special Plus. This guitar was calling out for P90’s. They are perfect. Would love to have these in a semi hollow or a jazz box thats fitted with humbuckers. I am a fan of the clarity. I am more of a plug-and-play type. These sound great thru all my amps, from a ADF 100 down to my tweeds and blackstars. I am familar with your modern humbuckers. Have them in a Gibson 54 Custom. It was routed years ago. I am sure these would sound great in that guitar. Hell ,thinking of putting these P90’s in my V and explorer. Big fan of these pickups. And another thing, no hum! Thanks again. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Paradise achieved. Beautiful polished nickel finish. The neck pickup with the Alnico Rods is beautiful when squeaky clean Great tone and definition. It also drives well. It combines very well with the bridge pickup. The bridge pickup remains fatter and delivers good clean sounds. It comes into its own when driving the amp I love the pair of them fabulous tone and NO NOISE !!!!

Killer Jazz Tone! The Hum-Canceling P-90 replaced the original humbucker on my Godin 5th Avenue Composer.
The original Godin pickup was actually very good, but I wanted something with a punchier attack and more clarity without compromising warmth and depth too much. And that’s exactly what I got. Couldn’t be happier! -
Pickup sounds gorgeous, partners really well with the Bareknuckle I have in the bridge. Shipped out internationally in great time.
-
Put a set in my Les Paul special. These things rock.Really accept gain well, roll back the volume and they really clean up nice. Finally after changing pickups a few times on this guitar I found just what I was looking for.
-
Everything I was looking for! These pickups are absolutely fantastic! I put them in an American Pro Tele Deluxe and they lived up to everything I’d read, with clear wound strings, meaty high strings, growl, nuance, articulation and no hum. Plus the Fralin staff was super helpful and friendly (and patient with me as I debated between a few of their pickups). Highly recommended!
-
Sounds are very good, kind of between a P90 and humbucker. I replaced the PAFs in my B&G semi hollow and they are a perfect match.
-
Really Love It! I was a Humbucker lover and it’s my first P90 so I cannot compare other P90 pickups. Anyway, I love it. No hum, sounds somewhere between single and humbucker pickups, fascinating.
-
Bought a set of the hum cancelling P-90 in Humbucker case, love them! I installed them in an Ibanez Gio with double Humbuckers that I picked up at an auction . I now have a kick ass guitar! These pickups are everything they say and more. Quiet, no noise, nice and clean, and down and biting dirty too!

I’ve had these pickups in my Schecter PT for 6 months now and they absolutely kill! I play in a cover band. We play a little bit of everything. My two main guitars are an EBMM Cutlass, and the Schecter PT. I use the Cutlass (BTW, a GREAT Strat alternative) for more of the country and pop stuff. I wanted the PT to have a “Classic Blues / Rock” feel, that could definitely rock out, but It was important that the pickups have articulation. Long story short, I came across these and I couldn’t be happier. They sound great through gain or distortion, roll off the volume and they clean up nicely, but most importantly, they remain articulate. Think of the 70’s rock song “All Right Now”, by the band “Free” and the opening chord riff. It really nails that. Then for songs that require a little more gain, they still sound great, without losing definition. I’m 53 and have owned a ton of guitars and pickups and I think these might be my favorite pickups. Also, they are dead silent. Well done, Lindy!

The hum-cancelling P90 pickup in the humbucker case is awesome. Thank you very much. Really quiet.
I now realise I have been after this particular sound for 40 years. Inspired by Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner on Lou Reed’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Animal album.
I modified a telecaster by putting a humbucker in between the bridge and neck pickups but it tended to over-ride the bridge pickup.
I was trying to get fat bottoms and mids but with bright edgy tops.
This pickup does exactly that. Amazing with lots distortion.
Thanks for your help.

I had been looking for the right pickups for my Les Paul for a long time and these finally hit the spot. I had P94s, but found them to be a bit too brittle sounding. Just like Lindy described, these noiseless P90s are darker than single coils, but they have a great unique feel that is like a single coil that is just fuller than they normally are, or a humbucker that is just a bit too sweet to be a humbucker. They are great. I can play great sweet clean tones, or flip to the bridge for great articulate high gain tones!

Ordered a set of these as a gift for my wife. She had been looking to replace the stock Humbuckers in her 2006 Gibson SG.
Not only did these fit perfectly, they look incredible and sound exquisite. Responds to subtle playing dynamics. Very balanced sound, a nice punch when paired with a Twin Reverb. Compared to the original pick-ups, when bathed in fuzz and reverb these retain a high level of articulation while sounding completely unhinged. Needless to say she couldn’t be happier with these pick-ups. And from a customer service standpoint, Lindy and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with, taking the time to address my questions and ensure these made it time for the holidays.
